tabletop ideas from our locavore "destination wedding" held in mendocino, california:
~ topiaries of multi-colored gerbera daisies placed in slightly iridescent ceramic pots that i purchased from jamali garden were topped with river rock pebbles (a nod to the surrounding redwood forest and rivers).
~ straw hued linen table runners from horchow that were embroidered with our last name monograms, “L” (lowe) and “K” (kamlet).
~ heavy hor de oeuvres such as adobo pork croustade, thai curried ginger satay, chorizo stuffed mushrooms, various dips + spreads – all with an emphasis on organics, local purveyors + artisans.
~ a raw bar of hogs island oysters, chilled citrus prawns + scallop ceviche shooters (not pictured).
~ artisanal cheese bar with area cheeses such as redwood hill, yerba santa, cowgirl creamery + laura chenel.
~ locally produced wines from navarro vineyards and beers from mendocino brewing company.
~ handmade table signs placed in japanese flower frogs from japantown in san francisco. these matched our stationery suite...and the place where we (finally) met (long story) at big foot lodge.
~ our orchestral trio along with my brother who is accomplished on the harmonica (see previous post).
~ sourced serving platters by using my own and borrowing from friends to give a more casual + eclectic presentation (i.e., cupcake stands from potluck studios, galvanized steel trays from jamali, fiesta ware, heirloom silver trays).
good stuff!
