last night, we were invited to our friends' house for a casual italian dinner. i immediately ran out to find a thematic hostess gift.
first stop was anthropologie where i picked up a "rate that wine" memo pad designed by knock knock. totally cute + clever (there's a coaster built into each tasting sheet - very fun).
next, i buzzed over to heinens, our local grocery store, to grab a bottle of vino. the wine lady at the lander circle location (love her! need to get her name...) steered me towards a "2007 leone rosso toscana." apparently, a simple red hailing from tuscany. i figured our friends needed something decent to rate + why not offer something supposedly yummy but not too pricey? (they'll have to let us know how it tasted. perhaps it'll turn out to be a mainstay....).
zipping home armed with my anthro bag and tissue, i quickly assembled my stash + added some vintage striped french grosgrain for a lovely last minute touch. (repurposed chic, i think.)
and, by the way, my friend makes a "delicioso" lasagna.
