MAKEOVER MONDAY - platner (part 2)

DIY DÉCOR (part 2)

 j. crew photo, reincarnated.

~ cinnabar rug with espresso circle detail. from west elm, this warm rusty hue makes a modern statement in the room.

~ "china white" paint from benjamin moore. a warm white with a hint of putty (photo from apartment therapy). subtle sophistication.

~ the "platner" chair from hive modern. a true 60's classic, designed by warren platner, is sheer sculptural beauty. its circular form is crafted from steel wire rods in bright nickel and has a protective coating in clear lacquer. the wire frame creates a soft moire effect. the rug i've chosen simply echoes the form of this gorgeous chair.

the chair cushions can be customized. here are three selections from knoll's "ricochet" collection (100% recycled polyester): java; teal (really fun accent + a nod to those great satin shoes from j. crew); camel.

nice color scheme. i'm about to attempt to paint a portrait for my family room using this same palette of colors -- glad to see i'm on the right track! thanks, lissa.
