fill inexpensive apothecary jars or vases with sweet confections, like those from the candy store in san francisco. located in my old 'hood of russian hill, this sugary shop is loaded with old fashioned goodies as well as artisanal treats. everything from gumballs, gummies, licorice wheels + lollipops to french caramels and chocolates of all kinds! don't the store shelves look both lovely + yummy? 

personally, i think having an array vessels with candies to the brim is a simple yet modern presentation for any home. if you are without a mantle, try this display on a side table or coffee table.
