MY STORY: spruce [décor] is born

so here i go...my maiden blog post. it's exciting and a bit baffling. i have officially decided to have a "voice" in this vast world of ours, but must navigate the tech-y stuff to get there. bear with me, i'll learn.

with this blog, i'll share various design finds and midwest musings. why? i arrived in cleveland a couple of years during a difficult pregnancy and, was, well, lost. i kept thinking to myself that i needed to get chummy with this new town of mine (a switch from the hustle and bustle of san francisco).

after my son was born, i became restless (a fate worse than being lost...). having been immersed in the whirlwind advertising world for 15 years, i yearned for a creative outlet. something beyond the crayons, finger paints and construction paper that had become my daily routine. something that would allow me flexibility, ingenuity and discovery. eureka! i'd morph into a WAHM (work-at-home mom, as my other WAHM friend informed me) and plot my path to prosperity....thus, spruce décor was born.

as a decorator, i stumble across the good, the bad and the, well, ugly. here, i'll try to focus on what i think is worthy of report in the realm of home décor as well as entertaining (not to mention DIY projects and tips+tricks).

that said, today marks the first installment of "tabletop tuesdays" where i'll remark upon things foodie and goodie. stuff that's just plain fun (aren't all parties, big or small?), eco or even fanciful. stuff that's worth mentioning.
